Homesense notebook mini haul

Today me and my friend Linda had a last minute trip to Starbucks and have a catch up and coffees and a wander across the road to Home Sense. Which of course has led to a Home Sense notebook haul!

Starbucks is one of my favourite places to go and relax in. I love all the drinks and I love the smell. I especially love that you can sit for hours with just one drink and no-one hurries you along. If my friends are busy and I fancy one I can happily sit in there alone with a book or just people watching.

After a few caramel lattes we went over the road to Home Sense. (Home Sense if you don't already know is the sister company to TK Maxx and is full of unique and one off homeware items.) They have a huge stationery section that I've never looked in before and I found two notebooks that I just had to get! You will already know about my love of planners, well notebooks are another obsession.

The first notebook "ridiculously good ideas" was £4.99. I'm going to use it as a notebook for all my lists. I don't know about you but I love a good list. I haven't decided what to use "bad decisions make good stories" for yet. It had to be bought though just for that slogan and at £3.99 it was a bargain.

My planners / personal organisers

This year getting organised is one of my goals for the year (you can read about all my New Year goals here). Today I am sharing my planners / personal organisers.

My personal planner / personal organiser

For Christmas I got a personal size planner, the butterfly teal embossed planner from Paperchase, which is beautiful! It came with the standard diary, dividers etc. inside.

Unfortunately I quickly thought a personal size just isn't big enough for everything I want to do with it. I was hoping to be able to use one planner as a personal organiser, blog organiser, food and fitness organiser and a notepad. This is just too much for the little pages and rings to cope with.

My A5 planner / personal organiser

This week I saw my local Paperchase had a sale so I went in to look for a solution. After lots of rummaging around through the shelves and bin I found the perfect answer....An A5 planner reduced to just £7.50!

I love the colour and design and I think the size is perfect. I love all the little extra bits like notepads and the inside of it has lots more useful storage compartments.

My planners / personal organisers - the plan

I'm going to use both of my planners / personal organisers for different things. The personal size as a personal organiser and health organiser which I will carry around with me. The A5 will be for everything blog related and stay at home.

If you are looking for planners / personal organisers I definitely recommend checking out what Paperchase have in at the moment.

New Year Goals

With the New Year just gone I  have been thinking about what I'd like to change this year. I won't call them resolutions as we all know they never work out well so they are my New Year goals.

My New Year goals

  1. Get fitter
  2. Eat better
  3. Be more organised
  4. Finally finish renovating my new home

My New Year goals plan

Get fitter and eat better

The biggest thing I want to change this year is my fitness and eating habits. An accident at the end of 2014 resulted in me having a labral tear repair and partial hip replacement in September 2015. Eighteen months of poor mobility have really taken their toll! I blame the immobility for this entirely of and not the massive amounts of chocolate, biscuits and crisps to cheer myself up of course. I'm back at the gym and I'm ready to slowly get back into that. I've also spent more hours than I'd like to admit pinning "healthy" and "clean eating" recipes.

Organise myself

Organising myself just had to happen this year! I really am hopeless at remembering plans I've made and often have a vague idea I should be doing something but can't remember what that is. (Until a cross friend rings me to say she's been waiting at Starbucks for me for the last half an hour.) One of my Christmas presents was a planner so I can write everything down. I'm really enjoying buying lots of planner goodies and arranging it how I want it (I have to add how freaking cute are all the different things you can buy for them?!) Hopefully it will be exciting to decorate it all year and I'll keep up to it.

Finish decorating my house

And lastly my home. We moved 2 years ago into a much larger house but unfortunately the owner before us hadn't done anything to it for 27 years. (yes 27 years!) I got off to a good start with it initially and I am half way through. Unfortunately after my accident nothing was done so I'm desperate to finish it off and get it finally looking lovely and pretty.
Having a place to blog about all of these is going to be so helpful and will give me that extra push to keep up to all the changes this year.

What goals or resolutions did you set for yourself this year?
