Models Own Holochrome lip glosses

Last week Models Own sent me their newest collection, the Holochrome collection, after winning a competition. I shared the Holochrome eyeshadow palette on Friday and today I am sharing the Models Own Holochrome lip glosses.

Dive into the mysterious depths with this Holochrome Lip Gloss. Shimmering, opalescent shades with a luminous, glazed finish slick on to lips for a beguiling look that's hiding a dark secret.

There are three lip glosses in the Holochrome collection, Laser Lilac, Cosmos Pink and Moonlight.

Models Own Holochrome lip glosses Cosmos Pink

Cosmos Pink is a baby pink gloss with a gold shimmer to it. This will look gorgeous on its own or over the top of a pink lipstick.

Models Own Holochrome lip glosses Moonlight

Moonlight is a sheer pearl coloured gloss with a strong gold shimmer. This will also look gorgeous layered over different coloured lipsticks.

Models Own Holochrome lip glosses Laser Lilac

Laser Lilac is, as the name suggests, a lilac gloss with a blue flash of shimmer and it is my favourite of the three. Like the other colours I think this looks gorgeous on its own or over a purple lipstick.

All three lip glosses are incredibly glossy and do not matte or dry down. As they are "wet" glosses they will need reapplying more often and do feel a bit sticky whilst they are on.

Models Own Holochrome lip glosses are £6.99 each and you can buy them on their website and from their bottle shops.

Models Own Holochrome eyeshadow palette

Did you see my post on Monday about my most recent win of the newest Models Own collection? Today I am sharing Models Own Holochrome eyeshadow palette and I have lots of swatches and a review of it.

Go deep sea baby with this Holochrome Eyeshadow Palette. Intense iridescent cobalts, emerald greens and glimmering purples are swept over matte black shadow for an enchanting opaque finish. Enticing, pearly textures for eyes that are from another underworld.

Firstly I have to say the Models Own Holochrome eyeshadow palette has the most beautiful packaging.  Both the box and palette are a holographic and duo-chrome metallic colour. It will, in my opinion, look stunning out on the dressing table or display and you definitely don't want to stash this away in a drawer. The palette feels really sturdy and there is no need to worry about it in the bottom of my bag. It has a strong clip fastening too, so again, no need to worry about it  when out and about.

Inside the Models Own Holochrome eyeshadow palette is 10 shades, 8 are holographic / metallic shades and 2 are matte shades. The shades can be worn on their own or over the matte shades for an opaque finish.

All 10 shades look beautiful, but once bright light hits them they really do become stunning!

The shades in the Holochrome palette are

  • Luster - a golden nude with
  • Vivid - a
  • Opaline - a plum purple with
  • 3D - a
  • Prismatic - a baby pink with a shimmer of
  • Deep sea - a
  • Nacreous - a bright glittering pink shadow
  • Luminous - a pastel purple shadow with a shimmer of
  • Matte brown - a plum toned, earthy brown matte shadow
  • Matte Black - a matte black shadow

It also comes with a double ended make-up brush, one end is the standard sponge application and the other is a fluffy blending brush. Although I probably won't use this I think the blending brush is a great addition to an eyeshadow palette.

Here are the swatches of the palette on their own, both in natural light and under bright light.

And here are the eyeshadows layered over the matte black shadow.

I found all 10 shades are very pigmented and blend incredibly easily and a tiny bit goes a long way. They all look so pretty on their own or layered over the matte shadows. The lighter, shimmer shades will look so pretty on their own in the inner corners of the eyes I think. One shade I have to comment on is Luster, in the palette it doesn't jump out at me but it really is gorgeous! I can see myself wearing this a lot, especially in the upcoming festive and party season.

Models Own Holochrome eyeshadow palette is £19.99 and you can buy it from their website here or in the bottle shops in shopping centres.

Models Own Holochrome collection

Have you seen the new Models Own Holochrome collection yet? If you don't already know, last month they released their newest collection, Holochrome, which is a holographic collection of deep sea shades. To mark the release of the collection Models Own held a competition on Instagram and I won it!

Models Own Holochrome collection

The Holochrome collection is a make-up bag, 5 nail polishes, 3 lip glosses and finally an eyeshadow palette. Everything in the collection is holographic with a colour shifting finish and is in gorgeous packaging.

The holochrome make-up bag is the perfect size for keeping in your bag and will easily fit your daytime make-up. Whilst it will be great for work it is a smaller size so it won't be a make-up bag for taking away for the weekend. It is a stunning silver, holographic colour and has rainbow flashes of colour in the light. It is also easy to wipe clean which is always important for me in case of make-up spills etc. This make-up bag is £8.99 and will be a perfect stocking filler for any beauty fans.

I am planning on swatching everything else over the next few days so do look out for those posts!

Happy Mail unboxing from The Lifestyle Files

You know when you're having a really bad week then someone does something so kind you could almost cry? That happened to me last week when, after a bad few days, my lovely blogging friend messaged me to say she had something for me. Like me, my friend Sam began as a nail blogger at The Nail and Beauty Files. She has recently branched out into lifestyle blogging at The Lifestyle Files. A couple of days after messaging me a happy mail packed full of goodies landed at my door.

Happy Mail unboxing

Sam has wrapped everything up in the most gorgeous wrapping paper that instantly made me smile. Because there are so many beautiful little presents unwrapping it all was like Christmas morning!

Happy Mail unboxing

Sam has sent me so many beautiful gifts and they are all my favourite things! There is nail polish, wax, chocolate (yum!), lipstick, stationery, lint rollers (it's a nail thing) and a face mask. She has also sent me a gorgeous angel wing charm bracelet that I am loving. So many things are new to me brands so I just can't wait to try them out.

Happy Mail unboxing

A massive thank you again to Sam for such a thoughtful and lovely gift xx

Please do check out Sams new blog here and show her some love.

Emmerdale Studio Experience, Leeds

*AD - PR EVENT* Are you an Emmerdale fan? Or interested in finding out what goes on behind the scenes in television? If so the new Emmerdale Studio Experience is definitely somewhere you need to visit.

The Emmerdale Studio Experience is a brand new visitor attraction situated in the former ITV studios on Burley Road in Leeds city centre.

The Emmerdale Studio Experience takes you on a journey behind the scenes, showing you how we bring the characters you love and stories you remember to life. By shining a light on the production process you’ll get to see how everything fits together. With full scale set reconstructions, preserved props and costumes to the secrets behind stunts and special effects; this is your chance to step into the exciting world of telly.

On your fully-guided tour, you’ll be able to get up close to all things Emmerdale and discover the magic behind some of the finest stunts seen on TV.  You’ll also have the opportunity to take your memories home with a souvenir photograph from behind the bar at The Woolpack and shop exclusive Emmerdale merchandise. Plus, before and after your tour, you can enjoy a brew and a bite to eat in the CafĂ©.

The guided tour starts in a small cinema room where you watch flashes of Emmerdale's greatest scenes, the incredible stunts and the highs and lows of the show. This is a great way to start the tour and see how it has developed over the years.

In the production room you can see how stories are planned out, from story boards to scene management and miniature models.

The costume and make-up rooms are brilliant to see and hearing how they keep continuity for each character is really interesting.

In the sets from the TV show you can experiment with lighting and cameras and find out exactly how they work. Of course it is nice having a nosey around the rooms you see whilst watching the show too. How strange is it to see the stairs don't actually go anywhere?!

One of my highlights from the tour is the miniature replica village. The attention to detail in it is just incredible!

No trip to Emmerdale would be complete without paying a visit to The Woolpack in my opinion. Both me and Linda loved being behind the bar.

These are my highlights of the experience but there are many other things to see and do there.

The guides for the Emmerdale Studio Experience are brilliant! They are all really knowledgable about both Emmerdale and the experience, very friendly and happy to answer questions. The tour is packed full of information about the show and exactly just what goes in to making it. Discovering just how the incredible disaster scenes are made is genuinely interesting and surprising. I love that the experience is interactive, playing with the lighting and cameras is brilliant fun.

If you're an Emmerdale fan or interested in finding out more about behind the scenes of television the Emmerdale Studio Experience is a must visit.
