Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

So, this is my last post of 2017! Can you even believe it's that time of year already? It's already time for me to be saying Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.  I break up from work today and won't be back in until the New Year (pretty unheard of in the NHS). So I am having a total rest from all work and wrapping up blogging today too.

Christmas is ultimately about family time. As a hard working mama I relish the time I spend with Ellie but it is even more special this time of year. I love nothing more than making happy memories for her.

I have a few more presents to wrap and drop off and the big Christmas clean to do and then we are finally finished. Woo! Does anyone else have to deep the clean house before the big day? Just so it can look like a bomb site by 10am Christmas morning?

We will be spending Christmas Eve relaxing, eating treats and watching Christmas movies. And probably drinking lots of hot chocolates under our blankets too.

Christmas Day we are having the morning at home, just us two. I am so excited to see Ellies face when she opens up her presents. We always have quite a lazy, leisurely morning and I really love it that way.

Once we are finally unwrapped and dressed, no doubt in new Christmas outfits, we are heading up to my mums for Christmas Dinner. It's got to be the best meal of the year, am I right?

After spending a few hours with family it's finally time to come back home again and relax. I'm sure there will be more Christmas films or Christmas TV. And chocolate. Lots of chocolate.

I'm not sure what we will be doing for the rest of the week. Lots of family time, hopefully a few days out. After all the excess food I always need a few outdoor walks to burn of the calories and refresh me.

Once Christmas is over it will be New Years Eve before we know it. I have some friends coming round for a sleepover and wine. It will be a nice change to stay in, in our PJs. Plus no queueing to get in pubs, no heaving bars where you can't move let alone get a seat and no need for taxis home.

Well that's it from me for 2017, I will be back in the New Year and have lots of new content planned.

I'd love to know how you're spending your Christmas Day? Do you have any other plans over the festive season?

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
